“When my fiance and I planned our ceremony in Santa Barbara, “simple” and “stress free” were on the top of our priority list. We wanted the day to be about love and gratitude for the beautiful things that life bestows upon us, spent in the company of very few people we are closest to. Beyond a few loose ideas and minimal planning, we were certain that togetherness and the reasons for being there would guide the day to unfolding in a free, spontaneous, and magical way. My fiance’s only request was that I wear flowers in my wild and crazy hair, and that I wear it in its normal wild and crazy way. From the moment I spoke to Ingrid, I knew she understood what was really important to us. Her soulful and artistic spirit gave me confidence in describing what I had in mind, and leaving the rest up to her. The day of the ceremony, she showed up with the most simple and exquisite bouquet of calla lillies tied with ivory ribbon. The flowers for my hair were extraordinary; she had gone all over town and finally found several tiny clips, and hand-made each one by gluing beautiful little flowers to them so that they could be placed in my hair easily, while honoring its unruly and wild nature. The wreath she brought for my niece the flower girl just happened to match the dress she chose to wear… perfectly; my only request from those present was to wear whatever they felt most beautiful in. Ingrid also brought with her a bag of rose petals that she’d gathered that morning from the garden; they still had the dew on them!

From our first meeting, when Melyssa described her vision to you we knew you understood. Indeed, when you educated us at the succulent nursery we knew everything was in your capable hands. And on Melyssa’s wedding day we knew you had created works of art. On behalf of my family, I thank you for introducing our guests to Santa Barbara floral style, for making the boutonnières, wrist corsages, the flower girl’s crown, as well as providing flowers and succulents for the cake, and most of all, for designing unique sustainable bouquets for the matron-of-honor and my beautiful daughter, the bride.
